Join Monica Shriver at Nashville Jazz Workshop’s Jazz Cave on Friday, September 13, 2024 for her official album release concert! The concert begins at 7:30pm CDT (Doors open at 7:00pm). LIVE PERFORMANCE TICKETS ($35) INCLUDES A FREE CD! Saxophonist, composer, and visual artist, Monica Shriver, leads a collaborative group of like-minded musicians on a musical journey through original compositions, arranged standards, and spontaneous improvisations. Featuring Matt Endahl on keys, Alec Newnam on bass, and Tim Buell on drums, Shriver’s quartet draws heavily on experimental and improvisatory musical forms and settings, and takes much inspiration from the work of groundbreaking artists such as Ornette Coleman, Alice Coltrane, Pharoah Sanders, and John Coltrane. SPECIAL GUEST ANNOUNCEMENT - I’m excited to announce that my friend and long-time collaborator, saxophonist Rahsaan Barber will be joining us for this performance, all the way from North Carolina! Rahsaan served as a co-producer for Unfolding, in addition to playing on several tracks. 9/13 is sure to be a special night, so grab your tickets now!
